This Policy explains the current fees and other amounts charged by Kincade Boats in connection with a transaction via its Services.
All fees included in this policy are subject to change at any time.
Renters agree to pay the Owner the price listed for the Boat they hire (the Rental Fee). The Rental Fee will be collected by Kincade Boats from the Renter for confirmed bookings.
Upon the making of a booking Renters will be asked to provide information such as credit card information, name, address and boat licence numbers. This information will be collected for Kincade Boats third party payment processor.
Renters agree to pay the Rental Fee and other fees as set out in this Policy for any booking they arrange through the website. Renters authorise the collection of such amounts by charging against the credit card number provided.
Renters authorise Kincade Boats to debit funds from their Fuel and Security deposit to make a payment for fuel that was not settled at the time of the rental, or in the event of damage caused to the rented Boat, if, in the reasonable opinion of Kincade Boats, the Renter is liable for these costs
The Rental Fee is made up by the Boat Fees and the Service Fees.
a. Boat Fees
The Boat Fees represent the amount the Owner will receive nett of any Kincade Boats Service Fees or other amounts (except, in certain situations where Administration Fees may be imposed on the Owner).
b. Service Fees
i) Standard Service Fees
Kincade Boats applies Service Fees on every transaction completed on the Service. Service Fees are included in the listed price and represent 26% of the Listing price.
Service Fees are payable by the Owner, upon the completion of a booking as consideration for the following services:
ii) Commercial Vessel Service Fees
Kincade Boats provides incentive via reduced Service Fees for company owned boats with commercial registration that are already fully insured for commercial use.
The Commercial Vessel Service Fee for Company owned and insured Boats is 15% of the listed price. To be applicable for the Commercial Vessel Service Fee, boat owners must have provided Kincade Boats with the required survey and insurance documentation prior to taking a booking. If this information is not provided prior to making a booking, then Kincade Boats’ standard service fees will apply.
The Commercial Service Fee is 15% of the listed price. Kincade Boats will provide a monthly rebate to the boat owners that covers the difference between the Standard Service Fees and the Commercial Vessel Service Fees (11% of the listed price)
In most instances, Kincade Boats’ costs are covered through the Service Fees charged. However, in situations where the actions of the Owner or Renter require additional work or effort on behalf of Kincade Boats, its employees or agents, then Kincade Boats reserves the right to charge an Administration Fee to compensate for this extra effort. The Administration Fee is $30 (including GST, if any) and will be levied for various administrative services including but not limited to;
If a Renter returns a Boat more than 30 minutes after the agreed rental period end time the Owner may impose a Late Return Fee. The Late Return Fee will be the greater of:
Kincade Boats will also levy an Administration Fee if they are required to administer a Late Return Fee payment.
Kincade Boats recommends that an Owner sets a deposit of at least $500 to be held for each rental. This amount is equal to the insurance excess costs that may be required in the event of an insured incident. It is recommended that Owners consider setting and charging higher valued deposits to cover other costs such as fuel if a Renter did not settle this upon completion of the hire.
If the Owner nominates a deposit amount but Renter does not provide Kincade Boats with the Owner’s agreed deposit amount the rental will not be accepted.
The Fuel & Security Deposit credit card charge will be released two (2) business days after the Owner has marked the rental as completed if there has been no dispute filed by either party. In the case where a dispute is filed by the Owner, the security deposit will be held by Kincade Boats until the claim is resolved.
For any insurance claim event, the Renter’s security deposit will be used to pay the insurance deductible, damages, and fees. Any portions of the security deposit that are unused will be refunded back to the Renter at the resolution of the claims process.
